Aryana Sayeed🎤🎼

Imagine being a fan and wanting to interact with one of your favourite artists. To get even the littlest attention would mean the world for fans wanting to interact with their beloved celebrities. Diana was one of those privileged individuals to get granted such an opportunity. Back in 2010, she came across an artist that would later become a huge success in the music industry of Afghanistan in the years to come. This super talented star is Aryana Sayeed.

Aryana Sayeed has become a household name for Afghans inside Afghanistan as well as for those living abroad - gaining popularity and fame almost instantly. Diana is also taken by her voice and talent as well. But, before Ms Sayeed even hit stardom, Diana sensed there was something unique about her and went to her first solo concert in London back in 2011 held in Byron Hall, Harrow. She became the lucky few who got the chance to interact with the talented artist of Afghanistan as well as witnessing her performing live! However, little did she know, her interaction with the fine artist of Afghanistan would be happening again and again.

When the concert ended, the day after Diana messaged the talented singer and like the last time, the afghan artist responded, making Diana a happy fan.

Though, things truly took a turn for the better for Diana in the year 2015. She was at her last year of university - studying journalism and needed to publish a few articles for 'Artefact' magazine. That's when she thought of doing an article about her beloved homeland and instantly thought of Aryana Sayeed to be the main and only contributor to this piece as she often visits Afghanistan hence, she would have a good understanding of the country and its living conditions.

Once Diana decided to go ahead with her idea of doing an article about her homeland and wanting to have Ms Sayeed's contribution, she messaged the singer the following day via Facebook. But the young lady was aware that she had a 50 per cent chance of receiving a response from the singer or her consent or that she could be unsuccessful in obtaining such an opportunity after all. Being prepared for whatever was to come, Diana messaged the singer of Afghanistan in the early hours of the morning before leaving to attend her lecture at university.

It was after her first and only lecture of the day when Diana received a notification. The then student could not believe her eyes when she read in clear writing a message from Aryana Sayeed, giving her consent to get interviewed for Diana's article.

She had not yet graduated at that time but still got the chance to interview a well-established artist - this was unbelievable for Diana. A once in a lifetime opportunity had been granted to her!

Once the talented singer, Aryana Sayeed agreed to be interviewed, Diana began planning for the article, researching and preparing questions for the afghan artist to answer. Ultimately, Diana came up with 18 questions altogether and sent them to the talented singer. Then, the young lady waited for the responses and focused on completing her other articles.

However, Diana still messaged Ms Aryana Sayeed from time to time during the process of waiting to ensure she has not forgotten or changed her mind as well-known artists generally lead a super busy lifestyle.

Eventually, in the early hours of the morning, Diana received a notification that put a smile upon her face. She finally received some answers from the questions sent, but only half -  this slightly baffled the former student at first. Yet Diana began to think the rest of the answers will also be sent across once they get completed. In the meantime, Diana was still delighted and started working with what she already had.

The next morning the former student got another notification, thinking it could be a message with the other nine questions answered. Instead, it was a message informing Diana that a slight misunderstanding has occurred with the questions/answers overall. Yet despite that being the case, Ms Aryana Sayeed was very sweet as she was still willing to contribute to the article and take time to answer the entire 18 questions, regardless of being extremely busy, having to attend a few events at that period.

So in a matter of a few days, all the questions were answered and sent over. At last, Diana managed to get everything needed to complete her article for Artefact Magazine. For the former student, the most exciting aspect of the entire process was that she had the opportunity to interview one of the biggest stars of her country at such an early stage of her journalistic journey.
